Liberty League Performers of the Week for September 14

Volleyball Performer of the Week – Naomi Clauhs

Naomi Clauhs led the Bombers to a 2-1 weekend at the Ithaca Invitational presented by The Hotel Ithaca, featuring nationally ranked competition in then-ranked #9 Johns Hopkins, #13 Carnegie Mellon and RV Babson College. IC would sweep Johns Hopkins and Babson, while falling in a five-set thriller with Carnegie Mellon. Clauhs had 47 kills on the weekend, including a 34-kill performance against the Tartans. She posted a .330 hitting percentage while also recording 13 blocks.

HONOR ROLL

Griffin Lupes led Ithaca at the Cornell Big Red Opener with a fifth place finish in a time of 16:29.3 on the 5K course, which featured 35 runners.

Hannah Pawlowski took fourth overall at the Cornell Big Red Opener as she completed the 5K course in 19:58.6 in a race that featured 36 runners.

Jaclyn Gilroy scored a pair of goals during Ithaca's 1-1 week. Gilroy gave the Bombers a 3-2 lead early in the fourth quarter, but IC eventually fell to Cortland, 4-3, in overtime on Wednesday. She then knotted the contest at 1-1 against Geneseo as the Bombers would go on to defeat the Knights, 2-1.

Nicholas Lang caught eight passes for 104 yards and a touchdown and recorded one carry for 23 yards during Ithaca's 27-3 victory over Alfred on Saturday night. He also had a 27-yard touchdown reception called back due to a penalty.

Landon Varley notched eight total tackles with 3.5 tackles for a loss of 21 yards and 2.5 sacks in a 27-3 victory over Alfred. Varley also posted a strip sack and fumble recovery on the first play of the second half, which led to an IC touchdown on the ensuing snap.

Annelise Stencel tied her teammate, Brianna Morrison, for first place in a dual match against Union with an eight-over 80 at Vesper Hills Golf Course on Saturday. Stencel carded back-to-back birdies during her round and holed seven pars.

Jayne Bogle and the Bombers continue to be perfect on the season, now sitting at 4-0 after a 1-0 victory at Nazareth University on Saturday. Bogle owned the lone score of the day, her second of the season. She now leads her squad with six points, sitting third in the conference, as she has a pair of goals and assists on the year.
 
Katrina Varnum and the Bombers continue to be perfect on the season, now sitting at 4-0 after a 1-0 victory at Nazareth University on Saturday. The junior now has two shutouts, recording five saves in the win over the Golden Flyers. She has a 0.50 goals against average through 360 minutes played.

Brayden Milbrandt and the Bombers went 2-0 on the week, with a 3-1 win over Misericordia University on Wednesday and a 2-0 blanking of King's College on Saturday. The rookie is second on the squad with four points, having dished out two assists, scoring one goal. He is averaging one point a contest. Milbrandt made four saves against the Cougars and one against the Monarchs for a mark of five. He ranks fourth in the Liberty League with a goals against of 0.60.
