ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team lost a tough match against St. Lawrence University 8–1 on Saturday afternoon at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. The Bombers' only win came from
Nicolas Luis in the No. 1 singles spot as the Bombers fell in close matches all around.
St. Lawrence took all three doubles matches for a big 3–0 advantage heading into the singles slate. In the No. 2 spot,
Nicolas Luis and
Tyler Del Zoppo fell to Adam Heilbronner and Broderick Pinto, 8–7.
Eric Dubilirer and Jacob Wach also dropped their match 8–7 in the No. 3 spot, falling to Edvin Strandberg and John Hill-Edgar.
Luis' win came against Nathan Turtledove, taking both sets 7–6 for a big win for the junior. In the No. 5 spot, Dubilirer's match went to a third set where he fell 10–4 to Cole Hamilton. In the No. 6 spot, Del Zoppo dropped both sets 6–4.
The Bombers are currently 6–9 on the season with its final regular season match on Sunday at 2 p.m. against RPI in the Glazer Arena.
