ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca College men's tennis team's season came to a close on Sunday afternoon after a 7–2 loss to RPI. The Bombers close their season with a 6–10 record overall and 1–7 against conference opponents.
The Bombers came out victorious in one of their doubles match, with Siddharth and
Jimin Woo defeating A. Drover-Mattinen and Andy Zhu by the score of 8–6. However,
Nicolas Luis and
Tyler Del Zoppo fell to Abraham Yohannes and Igor Visnevskij 8–2, and
Eric Dubilirer and
Jacob Wachs lost to Max Safanov and Bryce Burnham 8–6.
In singles play, Vaada's match finished first against Andy Zhu, falling 6–2, 6–2. Luis lost to Drover-Mattinen 6–4, 6–0, and Wachs was beat by Yohannes 6–1, 6–1. Del Zoppo forced three sets against Burnham but was defeated by the score of 6–7, 6–3, 10–6.
Ean Lantzy faced off against Tasmay Shah, but Shah came out on top 6–3, 6–1. The lone Bomber to win their singles match was
Carlos Hernandez, who won against Jonathan McMillan 7–6, 0–6, 10–7.
The Bombers season featured two wins to open their year, as well as two wins on their spring break trip, and victories over SUNY Oneonta and Bard College.
