ANNONDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team dominated in its Sunday afternoon win over Bard College, sweeping both the singles and doubles slates for a 9–0 victory.
Taylor Crain and Caroline Herz defeated Maya Kelly and Nico Gusac in the No. 1 doubles spot, 8–2 to get the day started. Kayla Shenk and Sarah Kohberger blanked their opponents in the No. 3 spot with an 8–0 victory. Eliana Chelnick and Sabrina Cheung completed the doubles sweep with an 8–1 victory in the No. 2 spot.
Crain, Herz and Cheung each blanked their opponents in singles play. Herz defeated Bella Ries in the No. 4 spot, Cheung defeated Lapis Dove in the No. 3 spot and Crain defeated Gusac in the No. 1 spot.
In the No. 2 spot, Zoe Davis defeated Kelly, taking the first set 6–0 and the second set 6–4. In the No. 5 spot, Kohberger defeated Paige Houghton in both sets 6–1 and 6–3. Isabelle Bennett completed the Bombers shutout with 6–3 and 6–0 victories in her sets.
The Bombers bounce back after a tough loss, returning to .500 with a 6–6 record and a 2–2 Liberty League record. The Bombers return to Ithaca College to host Hartwick College on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.
