SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Ithaca College men's tennis team was shutout against Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon, losing 9–0. The Bombers fall to 2–2 on the season and 0–2 in Liberty League play.
In the three doubles matches, the duo of
Nicolas Luis and
Tyler Del Zoppo faired the best, falling by the score of 8–6 to Sergiu Celebidachi and Griffin Biernat. In the first match,
Eric Dubilirer and
Siddharth Vaada lost to Brendan Jimenez and Nika Mori 8–3, and in the third match,
Jacob Wachs and
Jimin Woo were defeated by Jude Ogilvie and Kyle Lundberg, losing 8–5.
In singles play, the Bombers were unable to find success in one-on-one play as well. Luis lost to Jimenez 7–5, 6–3. Dubilirer was defeated by Biernat 6–0, 6–2. Vaada and Wachs both lost 6–0, 6–3, Vaada falling to Celebidachi and Wachs to Mori. Woo and
Carlos Hernandez were both able to win a set in their matches but fell in the third set. Woo was beaten by Ogilvie 7–6, 3–6, 10–6, and Hernandez lost to Joseph Wilkanowski 7–6, 2–6, 10–8.
The Bombers will have a chance to get back in the win column on their spring break trip beginning against Springfield College on March 13 in Orlando, Florida.
