ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team was in action on Wednesday in their final day of competition of their Spring Break trip as they took on both No. 10 ranked Denison University and then Colby-Sawyer in the nightcap.
Ithaca College vs. No. 10 Denison University (1–8)
The Bombers faced a tough opponent in its early match, taking on No. 10 Denison Univeristy with 11 matches already under its belt. The Bombers' lone win of the day came from
Nicolas Luis in the No.1 singles match.
The Bombers started off with three losses in its doubles matches.
Siddharth Vaada and
Jimin Woo were defeated by a score of 8–3 and
Nicolas Luis and
Tyler Del Zoppo were defeated 8–2.
Eric Dubilirer and
Jacob Wachs lost a tight 8–5 match at No. 3 doubles.
Luis picked up his win over Kael Shah, winning the sets 6–1 and 6–2. Denison University won the rest of its matches by wide margins as they roll through the Spring Break trip in Orlando Florida.
Ithaca College vs. Colby-Sawyer College (8-1)
Ithaca College took care of business in doubles action winning all three matches to go up 3-0 going into singles. At No. 1 singles,
Nicolas Luis defeated his opponent by scores of 6-1, 6-1.
Carlos Hernandez was pushed to a third set after dropping the second in extras, but the first year prevailed taking the final set 10-6.
Daniel Borenius handled Kham Savatdy at No. 5 singles winning the first set 7-5, he dropped the second 6-1, but ended up winning the third by a 10-4 score.
David Lubell defeated Cohl Schusler by set scores of 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The Bombers finish the Spring Break trip 2-2 and have a 4-4overall record and are back in action on Wednesday, March 22, hosting Rochester University for a 3 p.m. match.
