BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team totaled 14 points at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at the CrossPlex to finish in a tie for 14th overall. After scoring eight points on Friday, IC recorded six more to account for the team total.
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne was the reason for those six points as he finished in third overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.76 seconds. Leonard-Osbourne is now a two-time All-American after he won the national title in the same event last year.
It was a tight race throughout as CJ Anderson from Greenville just edge out Leonard-Osbourne by .01 and Sam Blaskowski from Wisconsin-La Crosse won the national title in a time of 6.71 seconds.
Justin Showstead was also in action on Saturday as he competed in the shot put and placed 13th overall with a top mark of 15.67 meters (51' 5"). Showstead was in the second flight of the shot and started off with 15.52 before fouling on his second try. His mark of 15.67 came on the last attempt but it was not enough to qualify for the top nine.
