HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team opened the spring portion of their schedule on Saturday as they bested Houghton university by a 4-0 score as the Highlanders had to default several of the matches due to injuries within their lineup.
The Bombers saw 
Kayla Shenk earn a win with scores of 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles as she defeated Esch Chloe. At No. 2 singles, 
Sabrina Cheung defeated Alex Leary by set scores of 6-1, 6-0. The final singles win was earned by 
Isabelle Bennett as she won 6-2, 6-2). In the lone doubles match of the afternoon, 
Caroline Herz and 
Sarah Kohberger teamed up as they downed the duo from Houghton in the tightest matchup of the day finishing at 8-6.
Ithaca College remain on the road for their next match when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday, Feb. 25 to compete against RIT in their first Liberty League matchup of the season. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
