RESULTS
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team competed in the College Challenge Cup hosted by Nazareth College on Saturday at the Golisano Training Center. Ithaca finished second overall with 133.5 points, and combined with the point total of the University of Rochester, the Liberty League won the Conference Challenge Cup.
Ava Fowler won the invitational 5,000-meter run in 18:26.06, while
Meredith Garrity was fifth at 18:4991 and
Julia Tomanovich finished in seventh with a time of 18:51.70.
Jessica Goode paced the field in the mile with a time of 5:12.92, winning by nearly two seconds.
Joy Petersen clocked a time of 5:26.58 to come in fourth.
Paloma De Monte prevailed in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:18.60, while
Rachel Rose finished in third at 2:22.78 and
Emily Johnson secured seventh at 2:25.69.
IC took six of the top eight places in the pole vault as
Meghan Matheny led the way in first at 3.65 meters (11' 11.75").
Martha Kemp-Neilson also cleared 3.65 to finish second and
Sara Altonen was third at 3.50 meters (11' 5.75").
Jamie Rossig was fifth at 3.20 meters (10' 6"), while
Erin Eastwood came in seventh with the same mark and
Kennedey Heichel was eighth at 3.05 meters (10').
Logan Bruce was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.83.
Sara Brown placed fourth in the long jump at 5.44 meters (17' 10.25").
The quartet of Goode, Bruce, Rose and De Monte dominated the distance medley relay in a time of 12:45.46, which was 35 seconds ahead of the runner-up team.
In the shot put,
Lily Seyfert was second with a heave of 12.38 meters (40' 7.5") and
Moriah Byrd placed fifth at 11.11.
Charly Slusser put in a third place showing in the high jump a 1.57 meters (5' 1.75"), while Bruce took fourth at the same height.
IC's 4x200-meter relay of Brown,
Luca Pecora,
Natalie MacArthur and
Milla Gonzalez were fourth in a time of 1:51.60.
The 4x400 of MacArthur, Rose,
Devan Adegbile and
Jillian Shea finished eighth in 4:16.46.
Kyla Eisman was a second place runner in the open 5K as she finished in 19:24.92.
Logan Brasacchio was fifith at 19:47.26.
Bree Boyle placed seventh in the open 60-meter dash in 8.45.
Ithaca hosted the Bomber Invitational next weekend, February 4-5, in Glazer Arena. Saturday will be Senior Day for the program.
