GENEVA, N.Y. – The 2022 Mary Hosking Invitational marks the start of the 2022-23 Ithaca College women's tennis season as the fall portion of the schedule is made up of individual tournaments. On Saturday afternoon on the campus of William Smith, student-athletes from the IC, Nazareth College, the University of Rochester, Union College, RIT, St. Lawrence, SUNY Geneseo and St. Lawrence University competed against each other.
Sophomore 
Taylor Crain competed in in Flight A in singles and she defeated Angelica Aksdal-Jans from St. Lawrence by an 8-4 score to move onto the quarterfinals. In her next matchup, she was defeated by Kirsten Levine from William Smith (8-4). Also competing against the stiffest of competition was 
Zoe Davis who also won her first matchup defeating Catherine Zek, 8-6. Davis also dropped her quarterfinals matchup, her opponent from RIT won 8-5.
In Flight B action, 
Lauren Rodriguez won both of her matches to advance to tomorrow's semifinal. She defeated her first opponent 8-1 and followed it up by defeating Rochester's Stephanie Kim by an 8-6 score. 
Kayla Shenk went 1-1 on Saturday as she won her first matchup by defeating her opponent from Nazareth by a final score of 8-2.
Rebecca Andrews also will be competing in a semifinal on Sunday as she cruised through her first round matchup winning 8-2 and then defeated Hallie Katzman in a thriller 8-7 (5-0). First year 
Sabrina Cheung got her first taste of collegiate action and responded with an 8-4 victory over Marina Kelly from the University of Rochester. She was even more impressive in her next match as she defeated Theresa Hect by a score of 8-0.
Caroline Herz also won her Flight D matchup as she defeated her opponent from William Smith by a score of 8-1. She will also compete in a semifinal after she bested Gabriella Dadoly, 8-2.
Doubles action saw 
Taylor Crain and 
Lauren Rodriguez move on to tomorrow's semifinal winning their first match by a score of 8-1 as they then defeated a duo from Nazareth 8-4. 
Rebecca Andrews and 
Kayla Shenk proved to be a formidable duo winning 8-2 and then followed that up an impressive 8-7 (5-0) victory over their opponents from William Smith.
