POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Vassar College Saturday afternoon in the squad's fourth conference match-up of the season. With the loss, the Bombers fall to a 1-3 record in the Liberty League and 7-6 overall.
Sophomores Deon Kraft and Eric Dubilirer put up five games in the first doubles spot, but eventually dropped their match 8-5 to the Brewers' Matthew Yee and Arnav Agostinho. Graduate student Minos Stavrakas and sophomore Nicolas Luis equaled their teammates' score but also gave up their doubles match 8-5.
Luis put up Ithaca's best singles performance of the afternoon in the top slot, losing his first set by just one service break. The sophomore was unable to battle back in the second, succumbing to Vassar's Jay Wong 6-4, 6-3. Kraft and teammate Jacob Wachs also put up three games apiece at third and fifth singles respectively.
The Bombers are slated for another conference match this Friday, April 15, at Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. Start time is set for 5 p.m.
