RESULTS
The Penn Relays, one of the largest track & field competitions in the world, finally returned this week after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. In what is now the 126th running, the Penn Relays went uninterrupted for 125 years before COVID.
On Thursday evening,
Danny Jagoe reset his own 5,000-meter school record with a with a new top time of 14:25.71. Jagoe finished 52nd overall and third among Division III runners in the event.
Nathaniel Oczkowski also competed on Thursday evening and ran in the 400-meter hurdles, placing eighth overall with a time of 52.74 seconds to surpass his own school record. Oczkowski was the top DIII entry by nearly a second and ranks fourth in the country.
IC's 4x100-meter relay team of
Anthony D'Addetta,
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne,
Akap Takor and
Andy Frank took eighth in qualifying with a time of 42.31 seconds. This quartet will run again at 4:20 p.m. Saturday.
The 4x20-meter relay of Oczkowski, Frank, D'Addetta and
Aaron Davis placed 13th in a time of 1:28.26.
Davis also competed in the long jump and measured out 6.27 meters (20' 7") to take 22nd overall.
The 4x4 of Oczkowski, Frank,
Conor Ryan and
Zachary Wachs posted a time of 3:37.10 to come in 26th.
On the women's side, IC's 4x1 team of
Logan Bruce,
Katelyn Hutchison,
Sara Brown and
Tia Jones posted a time of 49.30 seconds to come in 17th place overall.
The 4x2 of Hutchison, Bruce, Jones and
Emily McGrath took 12th in 1:48.78, and the 4x4 of Jones, McGrath,
Natalie MacArthur and
Paloma De Monte finished 27th in 4:06.30.
