ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team battled Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon and the Bombers led from start to finish in the 11-8 victory. The Thoroughbreds scored three of the final four goals of the game, but Ithaca (10-3, 3-2 Liberty League) saw big-time scoring efforts from John Sramac and Jake Erickson while using stout defense all game long.

Inside the Box Score
  • Jake Erickson netted all four of his goals within the first half as he combined well with John Sramac who matched a season-best by scoring five goals against the Thoroughbreds.
  • Jon Bouvier, Brandon Reilly, and Alex Carpenter all scored twice for Skidmore.
  • It was a solid dual between Collin Kuester and Ryan LaForty as each totaled double digit save totaled. LaForty finished with 15 saves, while giving up just eight goals.
  • First year Chase Gulick went 8-of-13 in the faceoff circle to help gain IC possession.
How it Happened
  • It took just 58 seconds for the Bombers to find the back of the net. Jake Erickson found a cutting John Sramac in front of the net and the sophomore cashed in the scoring oppurtunity. Charlie McFadden made it 1-1 when he scored his 27th goal of the season with just over 10 minutes left in the first quarter.
  • The Bombers closed the opening period with the 4-3 lead thanks to Erickson finding the back of the net with seven seconds remaining for his second goal of the game.
  • The junior attacker completed his hat trick at the 11:30 mark of the second quarter putting the Bombers up 5-3. Erickson netted what turned out to be his final goal of the game on a nice feed from Liam Lennon. John Sramac scored with 30 seconds left before halftime as IC went into the break with the 8-5 lead.
