ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 19 men's track & field team concluded the AARTFC Championships in fourth place with 60 points at Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon in what was the final meet of the year before the NCAA Division III Championships.
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne once again set his own school record in the 60-meter dash with a first place time of 6.74 seconds, which was .14 faster than the runner-up. Leonard-Osbourne also set a meet and facility record during the race.
Luke Tobia surpassed his school standard in the weight throw and he finished second overall with a mark of 18.76 meters (61' 6.75"), moving him up to No. 7 in Division III.
Andy Frank established a new facility standard at the Golisano Training Center as he posted a time of 21.88 seconds in the 200-meter dash to claim first overall. That time moved Frank up to No. 9 in the country ahead of the official NCAA qualifier announcement.
The 4x200-meter relay team of
Anthony D'Addetta,
Aaron Davis,
Conor Ryan and
Nathaniel Oczkowski finished fifth overall with a time of 1:32.66. Oczkowski also placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.65 seconds.
The official NCAA announcement for qualified to the Division III Indoor Championships will be posted at some point during the day on Sunday, March 6.
As it stands now, Ithaca has four athletes – Leonard-Osbourne, Frank, Tobia and
Dom Mikula – in line to compete for national titles in North Carolina on March 11-12.
