Sheehan Finishes Fifth in the Heptathlon

ITHACA, N.Y. - 
The Ithaca College men's track & field program, ranked 23rd in Division III, wrapped up the second day of the Bomber Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 6, at the Glazer Arena. The Bombers only had one athlete competing in the second day, as sophomore Brendan Sheehan completed in the Men's Heptathlon. 
 
Sheehan entered the day second in the event after second, third, and first in the 60-meter dash, long jump, and shot put respectively. In the first two events of the day, Sheehan placed sixth in both the high jump and 60-meter hurdles. He cleared 1.56 meters in the former and finished the latter in 12.22 seconds. However, he was able to bounce back by placing second in the pole vault by sailing over 4.15 meters. Sheehan wrapped up his day with a sixth-place finish in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 4:27.00.
 
Sheehan finished the event in fifth place with a total of 3,372 points. The Bombers next meet is Friday, February 11, in Rochester, New York at the RIT Invite.
