No. 19 Men’s Track & Field Finishes Second at Liberty League Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. –
The nationally ranked No. 19 men's track & field team came up just short of securing the program's fourth consecutive Liberty League Indoor Championship on Saturday at Glazer Arena inside the Athletics and Events Center as the Bombers totaled 165 points to finish second behind the University of Rochester with 174.5 points.

At the conclusion of the meet, Luke Tobia was named the Liberty League Field Athlete of the Meet after his performances in the weight throw and shot put. On Friday, Tobia placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.24 meters (46' 8.75"), and on Saturday, he won the weight throw with a heave of 18.46 meters (60' 6.75"). That mark won by nearly two meters and moved Tobia into the top 10 nationally.

Jalen Leonard-Osbourne matched his program and facility record time in the 60-meter dash at 6.78 seconds and also set a meet record in his first place finish. Leonard-Osbourne also ran in the 200-meter dash and fished third overall in a time of 22.76 seconds.

Andy Frank prevailed in the 200-meter dash in 22.10 seconds to set a new meet record, and he was a runner-up in the 60 dash in 7.05 seconds.

IC's 4x400-meter relay team of Nathaniel Oczkowski, Zachary Wachs, Conor Ryan and Frank took the top spot by edging out RIT with a time of 3:23.16. RIT was just .2 seconds behind.

Oczkowski was a runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds, while Wachs secured third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.82.
