ITHACA, N.Y. – Five Ithaca College student-athletes were selected as Performers of the Week by the Liberty League on November 21.
FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK – Jake Williams
Jake Williams scored three touchdowns in Ithaca's 63-20 victory on UMass Dartmouth in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. Williams caught an 11-yard touchdown for the first score of the contest and then ran in a pair of 1-yard touchdowns, all in the first quarter. He finished the game with 80 yards rushing on 14 carries.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Jessica Goode
Jessica Goode made her first appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships in her first year with the program, finished 117th out of 292 runners with a time of 23:35.6. She began the race in 118th after a mile, and fell back to 157th at the halfway point, but improved by 40 positions before crossing the finish line.
MEN'S BASKETBALL CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK – Luka Radovich
Luka Radovich put up a career-high 40 points on 16-of-26 shooting, including 7-of-14 from 3-point range in Ithaca's 95-80 win over Keystone. Radovich also pulled down seven rebounds.
Emily Dorn had an outstanding week for the No. 20/22 Ithaca as the Bombers won a pair of games against Geneseo and Catholic University. Dorn was outstanding handing Catholic their first loss of the season (67-65) as she put together her first career double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. She put together an addition eight points and eight rebounds in the 57-50 win over SUNY Geneseo.
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK – Emily VanderSleen
The Bombers were victorious over RIT on Saturday by a 181-118 score and
Emily VanderSleen led the way for IC winning three individual events. VanderSleen had an outstanding meet as individually she won the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.16), the 100-yard freestyle (53.91) and was also crowned the champion of the 50-yard freestyle with a finals time of 24.38, which was just about a second faster than Khavy Sangasy. She also was victorious in the 400-yard freestyle relay teaming with
Jane Pfeufer,
Josephine Holman and
Katie Champagne for the victory with a recorded time of 3:37.83.
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK – Karalyn Pawcio
In diving action,
Karalyn Pawcio (277.45) won on the 3-meter boards as she bested her teammate
Abby Marraccino (264.50). Pawcio went on to finish second on the 1-meter boards as
Leah Levin bested her teammate by just over 10 points with a finals score of 287.50.
HONOR ROLL
Jonathan Koumas led the IC defense with nine total tackles and caught a 21-yard touchdown during the Bombers' 63-20 win over UMass Dartmouth in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship.
Nicholas Bahamonde went 9-for-9 in point after attempts in Ithaca's 63-20 victory against UMass Dartmouth in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. Bahamonde also booted three touchbacks in 10 kickoffs.
