Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Luke Zelinko
Luke Zelinko appeared in three of Ithaca's four games this week and picked up three saves, with two of those coming in Liberty League play against Rochester. Zelinko allowed just one hit and no runs over 4.0 innings and struck out eight batters.
Women's Swimming & Diving – Swimmer of the Week – Kathleen Papiernik
Kathleen Papiernik represented the Bombers at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, turning in a strong showing across three events. In the 200-yard individual medley, the junior clocked a time of 2:06.82 to place 36th overall in a field of more than 60 competitors. She narrowly missed the evening finals in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing 17th in the preliminaries with a time of 55.54, and capped off her meet with a 35th-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:22.91.
Women's Swimming & Diving – Diver of the Week – Madison Morris
First year diver
Madison Morris capped off her debut season on the South Hill with a pair of Second Team All-America finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships. Morris earned All‑America honors by placing 14th overall in the 1‑meter diving competition. After advancing to the championship finals with a score of 414.05 in prelims, Morris posted a final score of 411.30. She capped off her outstanding championship meet by finishing 15th on the 3-meter boards. Morris secured a spot in the consolation final, where she ultimately finished 15th nationally, earning her second All-America honor of the championships with her finals score of 427.75.
HONOR ROLL
Leigh Naturale totaled nine goals and one assists for 10 points, to go along with four ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for Ithaca. In a 10-7 win at St. Lawrence, Naturale scored three of IC's final six goals to flip a 7-4 deficit midway through the third quarter into a 10-7 lead and eventual victory.
Sheldon Jay Walker III went 7-for-14 (.500) during a 3-1 week for Ithaca with five runs, four RBI, four walks and two stolen bases. Walker also collected a double and triple during the week. He had three multi-hit games and scored at least one run in each contest.
Kailen Winkelblech continued her strong senior season during Ithaca's spring break trip, batting .435 (10-for-23) across seven games last week. She drove in one run, scored twice, recorded four multi-hit games, and added a stolen base in Ithaca's win over Ursinus.
Across six appearances, including three starts,
Mady Rowell threw 24.0 innings and posted a 1.75 ERA with 20 strikeouts. She tossed a complete-game victory against Plymouth State, allowing just three hits over seven innings, and capped off the week with a relief appearance versus No. 14 Wisconsin–Whitewater, surrendering only one earned run across three innings.
Senior attacker
Brendan Occhino put together another standout week for the Bombers, totaling four goals and five assists for nine points. He placed eight of his 11 shots on goal, recorded his third consecutive hat trick against Brockport, and followed that performance with a four-assist effort in Ithaca's close loss to Clarkson.
Across three matches last week, including contests against nationally ranked opponents No. 23 Brandeis and No. 26 NYU,
Luis Crespo posted a 2–1 record. He opened the week with a straight-set victory over Clark University's Aris Kirkorian, winning 6–4, 6–3, and capped it off with an impressive three-set win over NYU's Shido Ito. After dropping the first set 3–6, Crespo rallied to take the final two sets by scores of 6–4 and 6–3.
