ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming & diving program hosted RIT for a dual meet in the Kelsey Partridge Natatorium on Saturday afternoon as the Tigers got the better of IC winning 200-100.
The Bombers saw
Matthew Stevens win the 1000-yard freestyle in a photo finish as he beat Mililani Rosare (11:07.59) to the final wall with a recorded time of 11:07.16. Reigning Liberty League swimmer of the week
Matthew Johnston took second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.68.
Johnston picked up another victory this time in the 200-yard backstroke as he was just under two seconds faster than Aidan Daudier with a finals time of 1:56.63.
It was a second place finish for
James Collishaw in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.38 as RIT's Mike Atanasoff won the event with a finals time of 21.19. Collishaw won his first event of the afternoon in the 100-yard freestyle putting together a recorded time of 46.88.
The Bombers took home second-place in both the 400-yard freestyle relay as well as the 200-yard medley relay. Ithaca will return to action after the Thanksgiving holiday when they host the three-day Bomber Invitational beginning on Friday, December 2.
