ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 12/13 Ithaca College football team will play its third consecutive Liberty League game this Saturday, October 15 as St. Lawrence University comes to Butterfield Stadium for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Ithaca is a perfect 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Liberty League, while St. Lawrence is 2-3 and 0-1.

ALL-TIME SERIES/TODAY'S GAME: Ithaca and St. Lawrence will square off for the 41st all-time meeting on Saturday at Butterfield Stadium. The Bombers are 33-6-1 against the Saints dating back to 1930 and have won each of the past 26 games. St. Lawrence's last win against IC occurred in 1983 – a 24-14 outcome.
Ithaca shutout St. Lawrence last season, 17-0, as the Bombers reduced the Saints to minus-28 yards rushing.
RECAP AGAINST ROCHESTER: The Bombers improved to 5-0 after last weekend's game against Rochester after a 56-10 victory. IC led, 21-10, at halftime but scored 35 unanswered points over the final 30 minutes of play. Ithaca accounted for over 500 yards of offense for the second time this season and recorded 145 yards in punt and kick returns.
IC rushed for 330 yards on 38 carries to eclipse the 300-yard mark for the first time in 10 years.
Jake Williams led the way with 113 yards on 10 carries with a score, while
Max Perry rushed for 75 yards on three attempts and two touchdowns.
A.J. Wingfield threw four touchdown passes – to four different receivers – in the game as he went 21-for-28 for 193 yards.
Dan Mason and
Jon Crowley were on the receiving end of two of the Wingfield passes to become the first set of tight ends to catch TDs in the same game since 2014.
Jake Ross and
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne also hauled in touchdown receptions.
Michael Anderson returned his second punt for a touchdown this season as he took one back 56 yards against the Yellowjackets.
LIBERTY LEAGUE AWARDS: For their performances against Rochester, Wingfield and Anderson were named Liberty League Offensive and Special Teams Performers of the Week.
LIBERTY LEAGUE STANDINGS: There is still a lot to play for in the Liberty League, but as the standings pay out right now, Ithaca, Union and RPI are all 2-0 in conference play. St. Lawrence and Hobart are 0-1, while Rochester and Buffalo State are 0-2.
Buffalo State and Rochester play this weekend, while Hobart and RPI square off. Union is on a bye week.
NATIONAL RANKING UPDATE: The AFCA and D3football.com released their weekly top 25 polls earlier this week. IC dropped to No. 13 in the AFCA poll, from No. 12, and remained at the 12th-ranked team in the D3football.com poll.
SOME OF THE BEST IN DIVISION III: Ithaca has established itself as one of the top programs in Division III when it comes to special teams. Heading into Saturday's game, Ithaca ranks No. 2 overall in kick return average at 31.0 yards per return and 16th in punt return average at 18.3 per return.
Individually, Anderson leads DIII with two punt return touchdowns and is third with an average of 20.1 yards per return.
Anthony D'Addetta is seventh with an average of 31.0 yards per kick return.
CORTACA TO BE BROADCAST ON THE YES NETWORK: The New York Yankees, along with Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland, announced on October 6 that the 63rd Cortaca Jug Game will be televised on the YES Network on November 12. With that announcement, the game time has been moved up to 12 p.m.
WHAT A START FOR TOERPER: Head coach
Michael Toerper has reached rarified air in Ithaca College football coaching history, as he is the first coach to begin his career with a 5-0 record.
SCOUTING ST. LAWRENCE: The Saints are 2-3 overall this season and is 2-0 on the road and 0-3 at home. SLU averages 17.2 points and 293.8 yards per game, while allowing 22.6 points and 333.2 yards. The Saints have defeated Norwich (30-19) and Castleton (34-6) this season, but have lost to Endicott (27-0), Morrisville (17-15) and Union (44-7).
The offense runs through Peyton Schmitt, who averages 74.2 yards rushing per game. Schmitt has 371 yards and three touchdowns this season, while quarterback Daniel Lawther is a threat on the ground as well with three scores and a long rush of 71 yards.
In the air, Lawther has thrown for 834 yards and four touchdowns, while completing 61.4-percent of his passes. Five different receivers have eclipsed 100 yards this season, led by 248 yards on 22 grabs and three touchdowns from TJ Cornacchia.
Reece Gillette anchors the defensive unit with 30 total tackles, while Daniel George and Brian Casazza are close behind with 28 and 27 each.
Tyler Liddy is a field-position-changer for the Saints as he has boomed a punt of 69 yards this season and has forced seven fair catches in 18 attempts.
UP NEXT: The Bombers hit the road next week for a 7 p.m. Friday night kickoff at Buffalo State on October 21. IC returns home on October 29 for Senior Day and Parents Weekend against RPI.
