Men’s Basketball Returns to Win Column with 91-85 Victory over Hobart

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team snapped its two-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon inside Ben Light Gymnasium with a 91-85 Liberty League victory over Hobart College. Ithaca is now 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in the Liberty League, while Hobart falls to 3-7 overall and 0-3 in league play.

The Bombers never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 19 points. IC shot 34-for-69 (49.3-percent) from the floor and 10-for-34 from 3-point range. Ithaca also converted 16 turnovers into 220 points.

IC jumped out a 10-1 within the opening 3:30 into the matchup as Skylar Sinon scored six points and Luka Radovich notched the other four. Radovich finished the contest with a double-double as he tallied 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting and pulled down 16 rebounds, while Sinon recorded 17 points on 6-of-8 from the floor with five assists and four rebounds.

After Hobart pulled to within 10-4 on its next possession, the Bombers drilled back-to-back 3-pointers from Liam Spellman to establish a 12-point cushion and would not relinquish their double-digit lead until 3:12 remaining in regulation.

IC owned a 15-point lead at halftime, 45-30, as the Bombers shot nearly 53-percent over the opening 20 minutes of action. Hobart would outscore Ithaca, 50-46, in the second half, but the halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Bomber came away with the 91-85 victory.

Spellman finished the afternoon with 10 points, as did Jack Stern in 12 minutes of action off the bench. George Sikoryak III tallied 14 points on 5-of-9 from the field, to go along with six rebounds and Noah Downing added six points.

Triston Wennersten contributed five points, while Andrew Geschickter scored four points.

The Bombers will travel to Hamilton College on Tuesday, January 11 for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference tip. The game was originally scheduled to be played on January 18, but was moved up a week with the postponement of the January 11 game against RIT.
