PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team traveled to St. John Fisher College for the opening day of the AARTFC Championships on Wednesday afternoon. Through eight of 22 finished events, Ithaca sits in second place with 35 points. Geneseo leads the men's championship with 40 points.
Dom Mikula won the pole vault with a top mark of 5.00 meters.
Luke Tobia started with a heave of 52.57 meters in the hammer thrown and then reached out 54.46 meters, which was his best mark en route to a second place finish.
Andy Frank qualified for tomorrow's final with a fourth place finish in 11.01 seconds, while
Jacob Lange took fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:34.80.

Zachary Wachs,
Nathaniel Oczkowski finished sixth in 3:24.68.
Justin Showstead came in fifth with a mark of 47.97 meters in the javelin and finished 11th in the hammer throw at 46.66 meters.
Chris Singer claimed sixth with a time of 15:06.42 in the 5K.
Brendan Sheehan recorded a seventh place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 4.53 meters.
Callum Howald cleared 4.38 meters and finished ninth in the pole vault.
Aaron Davis took 12th in the prelim race in 11.18 seconds, while
Ryan Medeiros came in 14th in the 5K with a time of 16:23.08.
Spencer Whitmore measured out 12.79 meters in finish 15th in the triple jump.
Competition for the final day begins at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning.
