Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 7 Women's Lacrosse Caps Undefeated Regular Season With Win Over Vassar

Ithaca, N.Y. - The 7th-ranked Ithaca College Women's Lacrosse team wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 19-9 win over Liberty League foe Vassar. The win also extended Ithaca's win streak to 16 games, which is the second longest in program history. The Bombers finish the regular season 11-0 (8-0 Liberty League). Vassar falls to 2-4 (2-3 Liberty League) on the season.

How it Happened: The first half was a high-scoring period with a lot of back-and-forth scoring as neither team built a lead bigger than Ithaca's two goal advantage at halftime. Senior Jacqui Hallack led Ithaca in scoring in the period with a first half hat trick.

Ithaca flexed their muscles in the second half, outsourcing Vassar 9-1 in the period to secure the 10 goal win. Ithaca's stingy defense held Vassar off the scoreboard until just 6:41 remaining in the game, ending a streak of more than 30 minutes holding the Brewers without a goal.

Game Leaders: Hallack had five goals on the day and one assist to lead the team with six points. Seniors Megan Motkowski, Madison Boutureira, and Caroline Grant all had hat tricks for the Bombers. Motkowski and Grant each registered two helpers as well.

Senior Rachel Rosenberg was stellar on defense yet again, leading the team with four caused turnovers on the day. Hallack had a team-high five ground balls, while three other Bombers picked up three ground balls. Senior Mackenzie Schade posted seven saves in a full game in goal.

Up Next: Ithaca will await the results of other Liberty League contests to find out who they will host in the Liberty League semifinals on Wednesday, April 28.
