Six Bombers Amongst Liberty League Performers of the Week

ITHACA, N.Y. – As announced by the Liberty League on Monday afternoon, 20 student-athletes in eight different sports were recognized by the conference office and amongst them were six Ithaca College Bombers. For Ithaca College, the Liberty League performers of the week for Dec. 6 included: Jack Wadsworth who was named men's swimming & diving swimmer of the week, Ethan Godfrey who was named men's diver of the week, Ava Lowell was honored as the diver of the week for the women's swimming & diving program, Luke Tobia was the men's indoor field performer of the week, Logan Bruce of the women's track & field program won indoor track performer of the week and Jillian Shea was named rookie of the week.

Men's Swimming & Diving- Swimmer of the Week: Jack Wadsworth
Wadsworth had a historic weekend for Ithaca College at the three-day Bomber Invitational. He highlighted the performances on Friday evening in the 200-yard IM, he bested the competition for a program-best and NCAA B-cut qualifying time of 1:50.21. He closed out the race in exciting fashion beating Jack Cimorelli of SUNY Geneseo by over a second (1:51.50).

On Saturday morning, he put together his best performance to date in the 400-yard IM. Wadsworth won the event with a time of 3:59.20. The recorded time by Wadsworth was an Ithaca College program record and hit an NCAA "B" cut. It was a historic 100-yard backstroke event that got the fans on their feet with a first, second and third place finish for Ithaca College. Jack Wadsworth bettered his program record in the event, and it was a "B" cut qualification time of 48.14. On Sunday, he continued his dominance by re-breaking his program record in the 200-yard backstroke. Not only did Wadsworth break his program record, but his time of 1:46.54 in the 200-yard backstroke won the event and was an NCAA "B" cut qualifying time. 

Men's Swimming & Diving- Diver of the Week: Ethan Godfrey
Ethan Godfrey easily surpassed the NCAA Division III qualifying standards in 11 dives in both the one-meter and three-meter as part of the Bomber Invitational. Godfrey bested out Jacob Calus of SUNY Geneseo for a first-place finish and finals score of 509.15 on the three-meter board. Godfrey was the top-finisher for the Bombers on the one-meter board surpassing the NCAA Division III qualifying standard with a total of 470.45, besting the standard of 440.

Women's Swimming & Diving- Diver of the Week: Ava Lowell
The Bombers showed out on the one-meter diving board with four Ithaca divers hitting the one-meter board qualifying standards. Ava Lowell bested the field with an 11-dive score of 464.15, easily surpassing the qualifying standard of 395. In the second and final day of diving, the Bombers finished atop the leaderboard with a trio of Bombers turning in impressive performances on the three-meter board. Karalyn Pawcio beat out Ava Lowell for the first-place finish with a score of 489.10, hitting the NCAA qualifying standard of 410. Lowell also hit that mark with her combined 11 dives scoring a 459.40.

Men's Field Performer of the Week – Luke Tobia
Luke Tobia highlighted the Cornell Greg Page Relays for IC on Saturday with a first-place finish in the weight throw with a top mark of 17.26 meters (56 feet, 7.5 inches). Tobia currently ranks seventh in the nation after the first week of competition.

Women's Track Performer of the Week – Logan Bruce
Logan Bruce was a fifth-place finisher at Cornell's Greg Page Relays in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.94 seconds. Bruce also competed in the high jump and finished seventh in 1.60 meters (5' 3"). Her 60 hurdle time is currently third in DIII, while her mark in the high jump is 13th. Bruce, along with Luca Pecora, Natalie MacArthur and Charly Slusser finished in sixth as the 'B' entry in the 4x400 with a time of 4:34.60.

Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week – Jillian Shea
Jillian Shea posted a time of 11:00.87 in the 3,000-meter run to claim third place and first among DIII entries. Shea is currently 33rd in DIII and topped the next closest DIII runner by 20 seconds.
 
Honor Roll

Luka Radovich averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds over two games for Ithaca last weekend. Radovich began the weekend with 12 points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist as he went 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range in a loss to Vassar. He then scored 12 more points with six boards and three blocks in a win at Bard.

Ariyahna Bernard was a third place finisher in the weight throw, and first among DIII entries at Cornell's Greg Page Relays, with a mark of 15.37 meters (50' 5.25"). The mark for Bernard currently ranks 10th in Division III. She topped the next closest DIII entry by nearly three meters. Bernard was also sixth in the shot put at 11.34 meters (37' 2.5").

Emily VanderSleen had several impressive performances as part of the 10th Annual Bomber Invitational. She was outstanding in the 100-yard butterfly as she put together a third-place finish touching the final wall at 58.36. She produced a fifth-place performance in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.21. She had a season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished just behind Taylor Robey of Nazareth College for a second-place swim in 24.25.
