ITHACA, N.Y. – Jack Wadsworth rebroke his program record in the 200-yard backstroke as the Ithaca College men's swimming & diving program concluded the final day of the Bomber Invitational on Sunday. IC finished up the meet in second with a score of 1436.5 points while SUNY Geneseo won the invite by totaling 1863 points.
Swimmers competed in the longest individual event of the meet to kick off festivities on Sunday morning with the 1650-yard freestyle.
Matthew Stevens took seventh in the event finishing with a recorded time of 16:55.42.
It was an impressive performance in the 100-yard IM for
Tim Hector who swam a season-best time in his respective heat. He finished second with a time of 52.72, with Andrew Hale of Shippensburg University winning the event at 52.41.
The Bombers finished one-two in the 36
th event of the invite which was the 100-yard freestyle.
James Collishaw bested all competitors with a time of 45.59 and
Stanley Zaneski was second touching the final wall in 46.38.
Michael Paulos was the best finisher for IC in the 200-yard breastroke by finishing ninth with a time of 2:14.53.
Not only did Wadsworth break his program record, but his time of 1:46.54 in the 200-yard backstroke won the event and was an NCAA "B" cut qualifying time.
Matthew Johnston put together a solid performance in the event by finishing third at 1:54.69.
The relay team capped off the invite in exciting fashion by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. The Bombers saw their "A: team of

Jack Wadsworth combine to swim to a time of 3:03.89. The foursome from SUNY Geneseo finished second at 3:06.97.
The Bombers now break for the semester and return to action on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Henry Kumpf Invitational, which is held on the campus of RPI. IC follows that up with a dual at Alfred University on Jan. 22 and divers will compete on Jan. 23 at the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational.
