SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team earned its three-straight win of the season with an impressive, 87-56, non-conference road victory at Susquehanna University inside O.W Houts Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, November 20. Ithaca, which is now 3-1 on the season, trailed just once in the contest – a 3-1 deficit in the opening 45 seconds of the game. Susquehanna falls to 3-1 overall with its first loss of the year.
The Bombers shot 56.7-percent (34-for-60) from the field and 54.2-percent (13-for-24) from 3-point range in the game. IC also held a plus-12 advantage in rebounds, 43-31, and assisted on 19 baskets. Ithaca was exceptional in the second half, scoring 45 points on 17-of-26 shooting, including 8-for-13 from distance.
Luka Radovich led the way among all players with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, to go along with four rebounds.
Skylar Sinon and
Logan Wendell also reached double figures with 14 and 13 points. Sinon was 6-for-11 in the game with eight rebounds and five assists, while Wendell went 5-for-8 and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc in 18 minutes off the bench.
George Sikoryak III filled the stat sheet with nine points, six assists and three rebounds.
Jack Stern finished with eight points and six boards in 12 minutes of action, while
Andrew Geschickter and
Triston Wennersten each tallied seven points.
Liam Spellman pulled down seven rebounds with four points and three assists.
After going down, 3-1, in the opening minute, the Bombers went on a 21-6 run over the next six-plus minutes to establish a 22-9 lead and never looked back. By the 7:21 mark, the Bombers extended their lead to 35-16, but Susquehanna would answer with a late run to head into halftime trailing IC, 42-32.
IC came out hot in the second half and built a 24-point lead, 61-37, within the first five-plus minutes. The Bombers did not allow the River Hawks to get to within less than a 16-point spread for the rest of the contest, 66-50 with 9:52 to play, but finished on a 21-6 run to secure the 31-point triumph.
The Bombers head to Vassar College and Bard College on December 3-4 for their upcoming contests and the opening Liberty League weekend for all teams involved.
