ALFRED, N.Y. – In another highly contested affair, the Ithaca College women's soccer team struck again with another strike of lighting that resulted in a late goal with them picking up a 1-0 victory over Alfred University. The Bombers dominated in shot attempts and improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 within the Liberty League with the squad also receiving votes within the latest top-25 rankings that were released earlier in the afternoon by the United Soccer Coaches poll.
The Bombers kept knocking at the door on Tuesday and finally were rewarded for the consistent pressure that was placed on net. IC were constantly within the attacking third of the pitch of the visitors and finally were rewarded with the game-winning effort in the 83
rd minute.

Alex Epifani directed a short, six-yard pass back to
Rosie Bostian who chipped in a short goal to the far corner that beat the outstretched arms of the opposing goalkeeper.
Ithaca College managed a match-best 33 shots including a season-high 21 shot attempts but were the more dangerous team with Alfred University only managing eight total shot attempts with two on target. Starting goalkeeper and reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week,
Claire Reader made a pair of saves.
The Bombers will look to win six of their last seven matches when the squad concludes a road trip at Bard College. Game time from the final of four-straight road games is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 9.
