ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team ran its winning streak to six straight games with a 98-71 victory over St. Lawrence University on Saturday inside Ben Light Gymnasium. Senior
Riley Thompson paced the Bombers with a career-high-tying 36 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including 10-of-19 from 3-point range, to move IC to 18-5 overall and 13-3 in the Liberty League.
Thompson tied a school record in made 3-pointers to match Vince Perrine's mark set in 1994. He also dished out seven assists in 33 minutes of action.

Sebastian Alderete tallied 22 points behind a 10-for-16 afternoon from the floor with eight rebounds, while sophomore
Skylar Sinon added 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

Bryan Karl also reached double-digits with 14 and 10 points each. Mitchell went 4-for-4 overall, including 3-for-3 from distance, with five rebounds and six assists. Karl was 4-for-5 from the floor in 14 minutes.
The Bombers went 39-for-75 (52.0-percent) from the field, including 19-for-40 (47.5%) from 3-point range, and assisted on 33 makes in the contest. IC shot over 50% overall in both halves and went 12-for-24 from beyond the arc in the second half.
After St. Lawrence took a 1-0 lead just 45 seconds into the matchup, Thompson hit a 3-pointer 10 seconds later to put the Bombers in the lead for the remainder of the game.
Four minutes later, Alderete threw down a transition slam dunk to give the Bombers a 19-10 advantage, but the Saints battled back to a four-point difference at 24-20 with 10:11 to go in the half.
Ithaca then responded with an 18-11 run over an eight-minute stretch to push its lead out to 11 points at 42-31. Alderete poured in eight points during the run, while Thompson and Mitchell both connected from 3-point range.
St. Lawrence once again found a way to get back to within striking distance with a 9-2 spurt to make the score 44-40 with just 20 seconds left in the half, but Sinon sent IC into intermission with a 46-40 advantage with a layup at the buzzer.
It was all Bombers in the second half as IC jumped out with a 14-7 run on four made 3-pointers to establish a 13-point edge at 60-47 with 16:29 on the clock. After St. Lawrence brought things back to within nine points at 63-54, Mitchell put home a three-ball to give IC a double-digit advantage, 66-54, for the remainder and the game
By the 9:30 mark, Ithaca's lead grew to 23 points at 82-59 as Thompson scored seven of IC's 16 points over that time. Just over four minutes later, the Bombers' added three more points to their cushion, 95-69, and Thompson capped off his memorable afternoon with back-to-back 3-pointers and scored 11 more points during that time.
The Bombers conclude their regular season next weekend against Vassar and Bard. Ithaca plays Vassar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21 and Bard at 4 p.m. on the 22nd for Senior Day and Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day.
