The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Rochester Institute of Technology, winning the first game 8-1, but losing the second game by a score of 8-7.

Ithaca struck first in the top of the fourth inning with two runs scored. The Bombers extended the lead in the fifth inning with three runs scored and added two runs in the sixth inning to make the score 7-0. Both teams scored one run in the seventh inning to give Ithaca the 8-1 win.

Senior Laura Remia went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore Alison Cole went 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored and junior Kim Sebastiao went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Sophomore Abby Hanrahan only allowed five hits and recorded four strikeouts in her 13th win of the season.

With the game tied at 7-7, RIT's Tonya Campbell singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Tigers the win.

The game was scoreless until the Bombers took an early 2-0 lead, but RIT cut the lead to 2-1 with one run scored in the same inning. Ithaca added two runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning to make the score 7-1. The Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth and tied the game with a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Junior Kristin Furdon went 1-for-5 with three RBI and junior Mairin Dudek went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Freshman Kerri Barber had one RBI as well as she went 2-for-3 in the game.

Hanrahan had three strikeouts and gave up five hits in two innings pitched. She is now 13-6 on the year.
