NEW ORLEANS, La.
– The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced their NCAA Division III Scholar Athletes of the Year and All-Academic Individuals on Thursday for the 2019 cross country season.

Both Ithaca's teams earned All-Academic honors after earning a cumulative GPA higher than 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. The women earned an overall GPA of 3.65 while the men earned a 3.55.

Senior
Parley Hannan was named Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country season. Hannan, who earned a 3.386 GPA as integrative studies major, won the individual title at the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship in Louisville, Ky. this past November.

Hannan became the first student-athlete in school history to win a cross country national title, clocking in with a time of 20:53.8. The senior bested the field of 277 runners, finishing 12 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Geneseo's Jenny Corcoran. With the win, Hannan became the 30th student-athlete to win a national title and the 46th overall individual national champion at Ithaca College.

Seven women and five men were named All-Academic Individuals. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Overall, 309 men and 378 women across the country earned the honor.
