High School: A 2016 graduate of West Genesee High School, Matkoski was awarded the 2015-2016 outstanding female athlete award. She also earned All-League Awards as well as individual league titles in 2014, 2015 and 2016 for indoor and outdoor track. Additionally, Matkoski was the winner of a sectional title for the 400m in 2016 for outdoor track and the recipient of the MVP team award.
Personal: The daughter of Steve and Carol Matkoski, Maria is pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy.
