BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Ithaca College baseball team suffered a 6-4 non-conference loss at The College of Brockport on Wednesday afternoon at Clark V. Whited Field. Ithaca is now 19-7 on the season, while Brockport improves to 14-16.
Brockport jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning as the Golden Eagles scored a run in the first, second and fourth frames.
The Bombers pulled to within a run in the fifth inning, 3-2, with an RBI double down the left field line from sophomore
Garrett Callaghan to plate classmate
Jack Lynch. Another run crossed after a pitching change on an RBI groundout from senior
Webb Little to push home senior
Matt Carey.
Brockport answered with three runs in the bottom half of the fifth on a two-run base hit and a passed ball to push the difference out to 6-2.
Ithaca got two runs back in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run by Carey with senior
Cam Fuoti on base, who led off with a double, but that was the closest IC would get, as the final score finished at 6-4.
Fuoti and senior
Sam Little both went 2-for-4 in the game, while Carey scored twice.
Senior
Emmett Dunn took the loss in 4.1 innings of work. Dunn allowed six runs (four earned) on 11 hits and four strikeouts. Senior
