Five Bombers Earn Liberty League Weekly Awards

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Liberty League released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and five Ithaca College student-athletes from four different teams were recognized for their exceptional performances over the past week , while three others found their way onto the weekly honor roll.

Sophomore Dom Mikula placed first overall as he cleared 4.81 meters (15 feet, 9.25 inches) to surpass his previous best school record mark of 4.80 meters. Mikula won the event by more than a foot at the Cornell Greg Page Relays.

Senior Parley Hannan, fresh off her NCAA Division III cross country national championship, dominated the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:56.83, which was more than two minutes faster than the next closest runner, who finished in 19:15.53 at the Cornell Greg Page Relays.

Freshman Tia Jones set a new school record in the 60-meter dash at the Cornell Greg Page Relays on Saturday. In the 60 prelim, Jones qualified with a seventh place finish in a time of 7.74 seconds to surpass the previous school record of 7.77 seconds set by Marcia McCord in 2010. In the final, Jones bested that time with a performance of 7.63 seconds to finish third overall ahead of three Division I runners.

Senior Riley Thompson averaged 25.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Ithaca. Thompson shot 17-for-31 (54.8%) overall, 4-for-12 (33.3%) from 3-point range and was 12-for-15 (80%) at the free throw line. In an 85-68 win at Bard, Thompson scored 25 points with five rebounds and two assists. The next day in a 103-80 victory at Vassar, Thompson poured in 25 points again and shot 9-for-14 (64.3%) in the game.

Junior Ava Lowell hit NCAA qualifying standards on both boards this weekend at the 9th Annual Bomber Invite. She won the 3-meter with a score of 451.80 and followed that up with a second-place performance on the 1-meter, tallying 414.65 points.

Three other Bombers landed on the weekly honor roll in their respective sports.

Senior KellyAnne O'Reilly had a career weekend for the Bombers, starting off with a career-high seven assists on Friday against Bard to go along with eight points. She followed that up with a career-high 21 points, including 3-for-5 shooting from 3-point range, to lead the Bombers past Vassar on Saturday afternoon. She also grabbed four rebounds and recorded two assists against the Brewers.

Freshman Andy Frank took second place honors in the 300-meter dash with a time of 35.69 seconds at the Cornell Greg Page Relays. Frank also ran the lead leg on Ithaca's second place 4x400-meter relay team, which finished with a time of 3:28.06.

Freshman Ethan Godfrey had a stellar weekend at the 9th Annual Bomber Invitational, hitting NCAA qualifying standards on both boards. He took second on the 1-meter with a score of 437.35 and third on the 3-meter with a score of 460.05.
