POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A late Vassar goal doomed the No. 22 Ithaca College men's soccer team as it dropped a 1-0 match to the Brewers on Saturday afternoon on the road.

The Bombers are now 11-3-2 on the season with a 4-2-1 in-conference record.

The game-winner was scored with just 4:48 remaining in the game. The ball was deflected off the back on an Ithaca defender and Vassar's Kyle Lopes was there to corral it and chip it into the net.

The game provided a lot of back-and-forth action from the jump

Senior
Jack Monnes recorded the first shot of the game just 3:06 in, but it sailed wide.

Vassar had its first scoring chance at the 8:28 mark, but senior goalkeeper
Max Lichtenstein made the play on Ryan Lane's attempted.

In the 19
th minute, senior
Justinian Michaels had a solid attempt which hit the crossbar.
Kevin Turi followed that up with a shot in the 20
th minute, which was saved by goalkeeper Eric Wnorowski.

The Bombers kept the up the pressure of Vassar's defense as the clock ticked down in the first half.

First-year
Aidan Keenan put a shot on-frame in the 39
th minute and junior
Jonathan Kyriakidis had a header in the 40
th minute, but both were saved by Wnorowski.

The Brewers had one final scoring chance in the first half as Andrew Goldsmith sent a shot into Lichtenstein, but he made the play to keep Vassar off the board.

After more back-and-forth action, Vassar recorded the first shot of the second half. Once again, Lichtenstein made the play on Lane's shot. Quinn Tunnell then had an attempt for the Brewers in the 57
th minute, which was wide.

Vassar had two more wide shots from Henrik Olsson and Eamon Geraghty before putting another shot on-frame in the 64
th minute. Lichtenstein, however, stopped Owen Fauth's shot to send things the other way.

Perhaps Ithaca's best chance of the day was in the 66
th minute. Senior
Max Barish sent a shot in, but defender Nolan Alexander made a defensive save on the line to keep IC off the board.

In the 83
rd minute, Kyriakidis put another shot on-goal, which was saved by Wnorowski. That would be the final shot of the game for IC, as the Bombers did not get any others off following Vassar's goal.

The Bombers have one final road game of the regular-season on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at RIT. Ithaca then returns home to close out the regular-season with a 2 p.m. match against RPI next Saturday.
