ITHACA, N.Y. –

ALL-TIME SERIES:
Saturday will mark the 37th meeting between Ithaca and Brockport dating back to 1950. Ithaca leads the all-time series against Brockport, 23-11-2, but the Golden Eagles, who are currently ranked No. 5 in the country, have won each of the last three meetings by a combined score of 100-45.

Ithaca won the first-ever meeting, 18-14, in 1950. The Bombers own the largest margin of victory in the series by a 52-0 score in 1991, while Brockport's largest win over the Bombers took place last season – 31-0.

LAST TIME OUT: The Bombers secured a win over Saint Vincent last weekend with a 38-14 victory to open the season. For the first time since 2000, Ithaca recorded two defensive touchdowns in a game, and it was the first time in program history that it occurred on two fumble recoveries. Senior defensive end Brian Gill scored the first touchdown of the season for IC on a 28-yard fumble return, and in the second quarter, senior linebacker Pat Minogue scooped up another fumble for a 34-yard score.

Sophomore quarterback Wahid Nabi completed 20-of-36 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns en route to the Bombers' first win of the season.

HONORS FOR MINOGUE: On Tuesday afternoon, the Liberty League released its weekly Performers of the Week, and Minogue was named Co-Defensive Performer of the Week. In the win against Saint Vincent, Minogue notched nine tackles (five solo), three of which were for a loss of six yards. He also recovered two fumbles (one returned for a touchdown) and broke up a pass.

GLADNEY BREAKS INTO TOP 10: After reeling in four catches in last weekend's matchup with Saint Vincent, junior wide receiver Will Gladney finds himself 10th on the all-time career receptions list at Ithaca with 109. Along with his four receptions for 60 yards, Gladney also recorded his first touchdown of the season on Saturday, giving him 14 for his career.

DEFENSIVE PROWESS: Ithaca put together an excellent defensive effort in the win over Saint Vincent, allowing only 172 yards of total offense. The Bombers held the Bearcats' passing attack to only 94 yards, while also securing an interception.

The rush defense was spectacular as well, as SVC only ran for 78 yards on 37 attempts. The Bombers also recovered five fumbles on the day with six total turnovers.

Minogue led the way with nine total tackles and three tackles for loss, while Gill added seven tackles and 1.5 sacks in the dominant defensive performance.

SOPHOMORE CONNECTION: After impressive first-year campaigns from quarterback Wahid Nabi and wide receiver Andrew Vito last year, the two look to be in sync again this season. Vito recorded 98 yards on five receptions last Saturday, all of which came from Nabi. The two sophomores will look for more continued success through the air against the Golden Eagles this weekend.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: After falling just short of the DIII National Championship game last year, Brockport is hungry for more success in 2018. The Golden Eagles had their best season in program history last fall with a 13-1 record, which ended with a 24-0 loss at Mary Hardin-Baylor in the NCAA Division III Semifinals.

Brockport defeated Hobart last weekend, 56-7, while gaining nearly 600 yards of offense and allowing 124 yards defensively. The Golden Eagles are led by junior quarterback Joe Germinerio. Against Hobart, Germinerio completed 24-of-27 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Brockport allowed just five rushing yards on 18 attempts.

UP NEXT: The Bombers take on Alfred in a non-conference matchup next Saturday, September 15. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Alfred and will be the 59th all-time meeting between the former Empire 8 Conference rivals.
