CORTLAND, N.Y. – Four players scored in double figures as the Ithaca College women's basketball team topped Cortland, 85-71, on Tuesday evening.

Cassidy O'Malley led the charge with 18 points, six rebounds, five blocks and three assists.

Fellow junior
KellyAnne O'Reilly scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, while senior
Allie Tunick netted 13 points and senior
Annie Giannone scored 11 while dishing out a season-high seven assists.

O'Malley put up the first four points of the game, hitting a jumper just 1:17 in on a pass from Tunick, followed by two free throws to give IC a 4-0 edge.

Ithaca continued to push, taking a 9-0 lead over the Red Dragons less than four minutes in. Tunick drained a three at the 6:36 mark before
Grace Cannon scored on a pass from Giannone.

Two quick threes from Cortland's Kristy Vitucci and Alaina Lynch cut IC's lead to just three points with 5:33 left in the first quarter.

The Bombers took their first double-digit, 21-11, lead of the game with just 18 seconds left in the first on a
Meghan Mazzella jumper.
Â
An O'Reilly three to open the second quarter pushed the Bombers' lead back to double figures, giving them a 24-13 advantage.

Vitucci answered right back with a three for the Red Dragons, and Cortland continued to be accurate from behind the arc, netting two more threes from Tanna Mohammed and Lynch to cut IC's lead to just six points with 6:06 left in the first half.

After trading buckets, Cortland hit another three, from Lynch, with 3:46 left to cut the deficit to the 31-27. The Bombers, however scored six straight points to end the half with a ten-point lead.

Tunick hit a layup with just under three minutes left and
Abbi Field scored on a layup and jumper to finish off the half.

The Bombers came out to dominate the third quarter, building up as much as a 24 point lead.

After back-and-forth action between the two teams, the Bombers started to make a run midway through the quarter, starting with a Giannone layup at the 4:46 mark.

IC went on to hit four three-pointers in a row, from Tunick, O'Reilly,
Sara Jackson and Giannone, taking a 62-38 lead with 1:43 left in the third.

Cortland rounded out the quarter with back-to-back threes from Shelby Dugan to trail by 18 points headed into the fourth.

The Bombers maintained a comfortable lead through the remainder of the game, never letting their lead slip lower than 10 points, while leading by as many as 20.

Cortland made its final push with 3:22 left in the game, starting with five straight points from Lynch on a three and a layup. Dugan netted two free throws and Lynch drained another three with 2:13 left to cut IC's advantage to 78-67.

After a free throw from Mazzella extended IC's lead back to 12 points, Cortland cut it to just 10 with a Shana Crespo layup.

Ithaca outscored the Red Dragons, 6-2, in the final minutes of the game to come away with the eventual 14-point win.

Cortland also had multiple players in double digits, led by Vitucci with 19 points, Lynch with 17 and Dugan with 15.

The victory improves IC to 2-1 on the season as the Bombers prepare to open Liberty League play this weekend with games against Bard on Friday and Vassar on Saturday.
