ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team fell to RPI in overtime on Saturday, 2-1.

Both teams played physical, gritty games but it was ultimately RPI that would come out on top, scoring the game-winner with under two minutes left to earn the Liberty League victory.

Dylan Confair scored the final goal for the Engineers, which is his third goal of the season.

The Bombers are now 7-6-2 overall with a 2-4-1 mark in the Liberty League while RPI is 8-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in conference action.

Ithaca got on board first, in the 19
th minute following a
Nate Mansfield throw in. There was a scramble in front of the goal and the ball eventually went off the head of one of RPI's own players to give the Bombers the advantage.

The Bombers led at the half but it didn't take long for RPI to get right back in the game with a goal just 2:49 into the second half.

Cam Law sent a long corner kick into the box where Trevor Bisson headed it in from the top right corner of the box into the left side of the net.

The 1-1 tie would stand until Confair's goal in the second overtime period.

Ithaca found the back of the net in the second half which would have been the go-ahead goal for the Bombers, but an offsides call was made, giving RPI the goal kick instead.

The Bombers also had another promising chance in the 88
th minute of play when
Drew Cohn sent a header in but it sailed just over the goal.

Ithaca's final scoring chance was in the 106
th minute when
Ben Quatresols headed the ball but LaBranche was there to make the save.
Â
Statistically, the Bombers and Engineers were very evenly matched. Ithaca registered 11 shots compared to RPI's 10 while RPI had eight corner kicks and the Bombers had seven.

Prior to the game, the Bombers honored their two seniors, Hinckley and
Eric Hepler. Both players have been members of the Ithaca men's soccer team for four years.

The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday, October 25 when they travel to RIT for a 3 p.m. contest. Ithaca's final regular-season game is next Saturday, October 28 at Vassar.

The Liberty League tournament is set to start on Tuesday, October 31 with the top six teams earning a chance to play in it.
