NORFOLK, Va. - The Ithaca College baseball team was dealt a 7-2 loss on Sunday at Virginia Wesleyan in Norfolk, Va. Ithaca is now 0-3 on the season.
Freshman
Andrew Bailey went 2-for-4 with two RBI on a home run with a run scored. Bailey also tossed one inning of relief on the mound.
Sophomore
Tyler Hill was handed the loss in six innings of work. Hill allowed seven hits and three runs with three strikeouts.
Virginia Weselyan plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning before Bailey pulled the Bombers to within one on his two-run roundtripper in the sixth. Virginia Wesleyan regained the lead with four runs in the seventh on four hits, a passed ball and wild pitch.
Ithaca committed seven errors in the field.
The Bombers return to action on March 5-6 for three games at St. Joseph's-Long Island.Â
