Football Falls to St. John Fisher on Senior Day

BOXSCORE
ITHACA, N.Y. —
The Ithaca College football team suffered a 34-0 loss to Empire 8 opponent St. John Fisher College State Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Butterfield Stadium.

It was Ithaca's (4-4, 2-4 Empire 8) first shutout since a 21-0 loss at Brockport Oct. 19, 2002.

Senior Schnayder Termidor and sophomore Dan Loizos each finished with 12 tackles, with Termidor recording two of the Bombers' five sacks. It was Termidor's first two-sack game this year, and the third of his career.

Senior Malik Morris added 10 tackles, his fourth game with 10 or more tackles this year, and also broke up two passes in the loss.

Ithaca, the two-time defending Empire 8 conference champions, was officially eliminated from the race for the conference championship.

Junior Skyler Kauf and sophomore Kenny Bradley each added eight tackles, while sophomore Jimmy Sullivan made a career-high seven tackles for the Bombers.

Senior Logan Murphy had six tackles and added a sack, as did senior Zach Pidgeon and junior Tyler Beauchesne against the Cardinals (5-3, 4-2).

Fisher had 23 first downs compared to nine for Ithaca, and had a 355-140 edge in total offense. The Cardinals possessed the ball for 40:36 while limiting the Bombers to 19:24 of possession.

Senior John D'Onofrio completed 11 of 22 passes for 107 yards, including a 34-yard strike to sophomore Ricky Cocilova, and junior Andrew Tabbert hauled in a career-high seven catches for 70 yards in a losing effort for Ithaca.

Morris also returned three kickoffs for a career-high 104 yards, including a 42-yard return, as Ithaca averaged 30.2 yards on six kickoff returns.

Senior Brandon Steff averaged 40.2 yards on five punts and equaled his career-long with a 56-yard punt for the Bombers.

For Fisher, Matt Naton completed 17 of 30 passes for 232 yards with a pair of touchdowns, and the Ithaca defense limited the Cardinals to just 2.8 yards per rush on 44 rushes.

But Fisher scored on an interception return for a touchdown, a safety, two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown, and a pair of field goals to knock off the Bombers.

Ithaca trailed 10-0 after one quarter, and 28-0 at halftime. Fisher tacked on a six-yard touchdown run from James Chambers to finish off the scoring, but not before Loizos blocked the extra point. It was Ithaca's third blocked extra point in the last two weeks.

Fisher and Ithaca have now split 18 meetings all-time. The Bombers fell to 6-4 all-time on Halloween.
