HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team suffered its first defeat in Empire 8 play after surrendering an early goal in the opening half as the Bombers fell to Stevens Institute of Technology, 1-0, on Saturday at De Baun Athletics Complex.
With the loss, Ithaca drops to 2-1-0 in the Empire 8 standings and 2-6-1 overall while the Ducks climb to 7-1-2 overall and 1-0-2 against conference competition.
The goal came in the 13th minute for Stevens and proved to be the only tally the Ducks would need as Ithaca was limited to four shots in all with
Sean Forward leading the way with two shots.
Brandon Thompson and
Scott Halpern had the other two shots for the Bombers.
Zach Jacobsen took the loss in net for Ithaca after making three saves.
The Bombers will return to the pitch at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday against Hamilton at Carp Wood Field.
