HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The 10th-ranked Ithaca College wrestling team improved its dual-meet record to 7-2 on the season with a win at Centenary on Friday night. Ithaca dropped only one match in the entire dual, and won two of the weight classes by forfeit.
A highlight of the dual match was the performance by
Jaison White at 174 pounds, where he scored a takedown in overtime and won a 9-7 decision over nationally-ranked Josh Sibblies of Centenary. Sibblies was ranked 10th in the weight class in the latest NWCA rankings.
Other big-scoring victories came from
Greg DuVall, who won by pin in 52 seconds at 197 pounds and
Dan Glinko, with a 16-0 technical fall in the second period at heavyweight. Ithaca got major decisions at 133 pounds with a 12-3 win for
Alex Gomez and a 12-0 win for
Nick Velez at 165.
Decision wins for Ithaca came at 149 with a 4-3 win for
Dan Pak, immediately followed by a 5-3 win for
Kevin Collins at 157.
Ithaca won by forfeit at 125 (
Jimmy Kaishian) and at 184 (
Carlos Toribio).
The Bombers return to action Saturday at eighth-ranked Delaware Valley.
