Box Score UTICA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's basketball team prevailed in double overtime at Utica, 80-74, on Saturday afternoon. Ithaca is now 8-3 on the season after its second straight conference win.Â
The Bombers trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half with 9:42 left, but cut Utica's lead down to one by intermission. Ithaca led just once in the first half at 21-20 and was never ahead again until 63-62 in the first overtime.Â
With 13 seconds to go in the first extra period, Ithaca went up by two. Utica sent the game into the second OT on a layup with six seconds to go.Â
Utica scored the first two points in the second overtime, but Ithaca tied things up and then took the lead for good. The Bombers shot 40.3-percent overall in the game (29-for-72), and 55-percent in the overtime periods (6-for-11).
Ithaca also capitalized from the free throw line down the stretch. During regulation time, the Bombers went just 8-for-13 from the line (61.5-percent), but made 8-of-11 tries in overtime (72.7-percent).

(Whitesboro, N.Y.)Â paced Ithaca with 16 points and eight rebounds. Cotrupe shot efficiently from the floor, going 6-for-10 to go along with four free throws.

Ally Mnich (Holmdel, N.J.) contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively. SophomoreÂ
Alex GilliganÂ
(Fountain Hills, Ariz.) poured in a career-high 12 points on four made three-pointers.
Sophomore
Erin Ferguson (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) and freshman
Jordan Beers (Franklin, N.Y.) both added nine points for Ithaca. Ferguson also grabbed six rebounds. Freshman
Julie Yacovoni (Endwell, N.Y.) chipped in seven rebounds and six points in 16 minutes as a reserve.
Junior
Keri Steele (Flemington, N.J.) scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds, while sophomore
Shayna Gaskins (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) also recorded five rebounds.
Despite playing to two overtimes, the contest was only tied three times and the lead changed sides on four occasions.
Ithaca continues Empire 8 play against St. John Fisher at 6 p.m. in Ben Light Gymnasium on Jan. 6. The Bombers will then head to Stevens on Jan. 16 and Hartwick on Jan. 17 next week.
