Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Rochester Institute of Technology Wednesday evening at Carp Wood Field.  Ithaca's record moves to 4-7-3 overall, while RIT improves to 5-11-1 on the season.

Brandon Thompson scored the lone goal for Ithaca. Senior goalkeeper
Jordan Gentile made four saves on six Tiger shots. RIT held a slight advantage with 11 total shots to Ithaca's seven, and four corner kicks to the Bombers' one.

After a scoreless opening half, Ithaca got on the board first in the second frame. Thompson took a feed in the midfield from senior
Brandon Glass, eventually moving to the far side on a group of RIT defenders. Thompson took a shot back towards the near side, beating the Tiger goalkeeper for his first goal as a Bomber to give Ithaca the 1-0 lead.

The Tigers evened the contest with exactly nine minutes remaining in regulation, as RIT converted on a corner kick to put the game at 1-1. Just 38 seconds later, the Tigers pulled ahead on a goal scored via a cross through the box, giving RIT the 2-1 lead in the closing minutes.

Ithaca pressured in the final moments, but was unable to beat the RIT goalkeeper, giving the Tigers a 2-1 non-conference win.

The Bombers are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 1 in a conference game at Carp Wood Field against Nazareth. The Bombers have already locked up the second seed in the Empire 8 playoffs, which starts the weekend of Nov. 7 at Stevens. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.Â
