ONEONTA, N.Y. – The 24th-ranked and top-seeded Ithaca College women's basketball team (24-2) defeated fourth-seeded St. John Fisher (12-14) 64-54 on Friday at Hartwick in an Empire 8 Championship Tournament semifinal contest. The victory, Ithaca's 24th, ties the school record for single-season victories. Ithaca finished the 2011-12 season at 24-5.
Advancing to its fifth straight Empire 8 title game, Ithaca opened action with a 12-2 run and never looked back. The Bombers powered to a 17-point lead with 51 seconds lingering in the first and held a 30-15 gap at intermission.
The Cardinals outscored the Bombers, 39-34, in the second. Ithaca claimed a 45-22 gap at 14:17, but an 18-6 run allowed Fisher within 11, 51-40, at 4:16. Ithaca went ahead 55-41, but the Cardinals again chipped away at their deficit to cut within eight at 1:43. The Bombers answered with six consecutive good for a 14-point lead with 38 ticks left in the game. Ithaca went on to finalize all scoring, 64-54.

Kathryn Campbell, who drained 11-of-12 free throws, led the game with 16 points and senior
Devin Shea added 14. Junior
Mary Kate Tierney had a contest-best 10 boards. Campbell pulled down seven.
Ithaca held a solid 50-34 gap on the boards. Fisher shot 32.2 percent from the floor to Ithaca's 31.7 percent.
The Bombers will play the winner of second-seeded Hartwick and third-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday at 3 p.m.
