Alfred held a 1-0 lead until eighteen minutes into the second half. During a battle for the ball in front of the Saxons net an Alfred player deflected the ball into the goal to even the score. The goal was credited to Bomber sophomore
A.J. Wolfanger. The score remained tied until late in the second half when sophomore forward
Zach Hutchinson scored on a deflection off the Alfred goalkeeper to put the Bombers ahead 2-1.
The Bombers had multiple scoring chances throughout the second half including one just seconds after the kickoff that glanced the crossbar off of the head of sophomore
Tim Goldman. The pressure continued for the Bombers 17 minutes into the second half when Hutchinson dribbled past two Alfred defenders and missed a shot high.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kenny Chapman earned his second victory as a member of the Bombers to improve his overall record to 2-0-1. The Bombers' defense held the Alfred scoring attack to only three shots as the Bombers held possession for the majority of the game.
Ithaca returns to action Tuesday as the Bombers travel to play Hobart in a game that will begin at 3:30 p.m.
