OSWEGO, N.Y. - The eighth-ranked Ithaca wrestling team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 27-9 win at Oswego on Saturday afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium. The dual was tied 9-9 after six bouts before the Bombers won the last four of the match to get the win.
Eight of the 10 bouts were decided by decision.
Jules Doliscar, ranked second in the nation at 174, earned the only win by pin in the match with a victory in 2:17. The Bombers also got six points from a medical forfeit at heavyweight, won by
Jake Davenport.
The first three decision victories for Ithaca came from
Ricardo Gomez at 133,
Kevin Collins at 149 and
Derek Brenon at 157. After Doliscar's pin,
Dan Glinko won a 10-4 decision at 184 to make the team score 18-9, then
Shane Bartrum scored an 8-2 win at 197 to clinch the dual.
Ithaca returns to action after the start of the new year, when the Bombers will compete in the North-South Duals on Jan. 5 at Ursinus in Collegeville, Pa.
