NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team (5-1) dropped a 51-47 decision to host Baruch (6-0) on Saturday afternoon.

Mary Kate Tierney paced Ithaca with 15 points and classmate
Jenn Escobido added 13. Sophomore
Geena Brady grabbed a team-high eight boards, while Tierney, Escobido and junior
Kathryn Campbell each chipped in seven. Tierney had a trio of steals and Campbell recorded three blocks.
The Bearcats opened action with a 9-2 run. Ithaca pulled within 13-10 on Campbell and Brady layups, before getting down 21-14. Ithaca rattled off seven straight to knot action 21-21 at 3:41. The Bearcats tallied five and held the Bombers scoreless down the stretch for a 26-21 advantage at the half.
Ithaca pulled within two at 16:39, but the Bearcats went on to claim a 33-26 lead. The Bombers used a 12-3 streak, highlighted by eight Escobido points, to claim its first lead since the contest's opening bucket.
The lead bounced back-and-forth before eight straight Bearcat points secured the advantage indefinitely for Baruch. The Bombers got within four, but were held silent over the last 2:37 as Baruch remained undefeated on the season.
Ithaca held a 48-41 edge in rebounds and shot 35.1 percent from the floor to the Bearcats' 26.7 percent.
Ithaca returns to action on Monday hosting Medaille at 7 p.m.
