UTICA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team (7-1) upended host SUNY IT (1-4), 84-52, Friday night. The victory was the Bombers' largest since an 84-37 trouncing of Elms in a 2012 NCAA regional semifinal game.
Ithaca opened action on a 5-0 run and never looked back. Just seven minutes into action, Ithaca had secured a double-digit lead which it never surrendered. An 8-1 run closed the first frame in Ithaca's favor, 47-26.
The Bombers posted a 10-2 streak over the first three minutes of the second en route to a 64-31 gap at 14:50. The Wildcats cut the deficit to 26, 67-41, at the 11-minute mark, though the Bombers went on to post an 84-52 final handing the host squad its fourth loss in five games.
Shooting a potent 52.2 percent from the floor, the Bombers placed four in double digits on the evening. Junior

Mary Kate Tierney had a Bomber-best six rebounds and Campbell added five.
Ithaca tallied 16 steals throughout the game and made just 12 turnovers, while generating 34 points off Wildcat turnovers.
The Bombers return to action on Jan. 2 at Rochester at 6 p.m.
