Pair of First-Half Goals Lifts Utica Past Ithaca

UTICA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team (6-3-4, 3-1-1 Empire 8) suffered its first Empire 8 loss of 2012 with a 2-0 setback at Utica (6-7-1, 1-3-0 Empire 8) Saturday evening at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.

Each squad tallied 12 shots during the contest, featuring a 7-3 Ithaca edge in the second stint. Utica held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Sophomore Tim Goldman led Ithaca's offensive attack with five shots, while freshman Guthrie Drake chipped in three.

Freshman Kenny Chapman made four stops in goal during the contest.

The Bombers next face Nazareth at Carp Wood Field on Saturday, Oct. 20 at noon.
