ITHACA, N.Y. -- The women's basketball team (9-2, 1-0 Empire 8) posted its biggest win ever over St. John Fisher (4-7, 0-1 Empire 8), routing the visiting Cardinals 82-50 Friday at Ben Light Gymnasium.
The Bombers posted their third 30-point win in nine victories, rolling to the win in both teams' Empire 8 opener. Ithaca is 32-1 in conference games since the start of the 2009-10 season and 139-22 under Coach
Dan Raymond.
All 14 Bombers played with none playing for more than 24 minutes. Sophomore guard
Kathryn Campbell (Wall/Wall, N.J.) led Ithaca with 23 points -- one short of her career high -- in 23 minutes of action. Campbell made nine of her 14 shots from the floor and added eight rebounds and four assists.
Senior guard
Jacqueline Shinall (Joel Barlow/Redding Ridge, Conn.) added nine points and sophopmore forward
Jenn Escobido (Norwich Free Academy/Lisbon, Conn.) and junior forward
Elizabeth Conti (Algonquin Regional/Southborough, Mass.) both netted eight.
Conti's total was one short of her career best; she finished with three rebounds and a personal-high four steals.
Sophomore guard
Mary Kate Tierney (Our Lady of Mercy/Rochester) collected seven points and five rebounds in her Bomber debut. Junior center
Devin Shea (St. Basil Academy/Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) collected five assists and six rebounds.
Ithaca harassed the Cardinals into missing 15 of their first 17 shots and had opened up a 20-point lead midway through the second half.
The Bombers host Nazareth Saturday at 2 p.m.
